Mixing modern and vintage is one of my go-to techniques when it comes to putting together a unique outfit. My trick to doing this is to pair a statement vintage piece, such as these high-waisted polka dot shorts, with a minimalist modern piece, here being a simple silk shirt from Everlane. I also chose similar color palettes to create a clean and airy vibe.
Can we just talk about how amazing these sequined sneakers are from Coach? I’ve posted about them previously here
with a white romper, and as you can see they basically go with everything. I’m obsessed most of all with the color, I think the sequins pop so well against the white, and it’s just a great alternative to sandals during the summer. Unfortunately these are sold out in the US, but there is a brown version on sale
if you’re located in the UK that’s a good transition into Fall. So if you’re digging the style and don’t love white, it may be a good option for you.
Everlane shirt (here), Vintage shorts, Coach sneakers (similar here, UK only), Vintage Coach bag, Birdhouse necklace, Kate Spade bangle (here)
For the rest of the outfit, I chose a vintage bag (also Coach unintentionally) and delicate accessories to keep the clean vibe of the look. I’d love to hear what are your go-to tricks when it comes to putting together an outfit? Comment below with your thoughts!
