I will be the first to admit that I’ve never been a big fan of the face washing ritual. I know that sounds bad, but I’ve always thought it is such a hassle to have multiple cleansers and steps, wash twice a day, etc. So when I was asked to try Foreo’s LUNA mini 2
, an electric face brush that promises to eliminate blemishes and revolutionize the way you wash your face in just 1 minute twice a day, I was cautiously curious and apprehensive at the same time. I am happy to say that it was a game changer in my skincare routine indeed – I’ve been using the product for the past 2 weeks, and not only does my skin feel and look clearer, I actually now look forward to washing my face with the Luna mini 2!
So today I’ll take you through my review and step-by-step guide on how to use the product, as I found the most confusing part was figuring out how to use the brush on my face. Below is a quick visual guide to reference throughout this post (you can also download it as a PDF
I received the special Save the Sea
edition LUNA mini 2 in blue – 100% of proceeds from this edition go towards the restoration of marine ecosystems. The product also comes in other colors such as pink, fuchsia, and sunflower yellow, all super cute! When I opened the package, the first thing I did was charge the product with the provided USB cable, it took about an hour before it was fully charged, and this is suppose to last 5 months without needing to be charged again!
I like to use the LUNA with my Fresh face wash twice a day, and it only takes a minute for the cleaning cycle to be complete. The great thing about the LUNA is that once turned on, it pulsates every time you are suppose to move to different part of your face – so starting from one side of the cheeks and chin to the other side, the LUNA will run for 15 seconds before it pulsates, indicating that you should move to the other side of your cheeks. I usually do my cheeks and chin first, then my forehead, then the sides of my nose and finish with under my eyes. One feature I like is that it lets you adjust the intensity of the pulsation with the +/- buttons to 8 different levels, I usually keep it around the 4/5 and decrease sightly when I get to my eye area.
There are also two different sides to the LUNA, one side for a softer clean and one side for a deeper, exfoliating clean, as well as a T-zone brush for more precise cleaning. I usually use the deeper side at night to take off dirt and residue from the day, and the softer side in the morning for a gentle wake-up clean. I think what I like most about the LUNA mini 2 is that it’s mini indeed – it’s a great size for travel and the cute shape and design doesn’t hurt either.
After using for 1 minute, I just wash my face and rinse off, and that’s it! Below I’ve also captured a few other essentials in my skincare and makeup routine for a fresh-faced summer, keeping along with the Save the Sea theme. I use Fresh Soy Face Cleanser
, Dr. Jart+ BB cream as my foundation, Urban Decay eye liner in Abyss
, and Essie nail polish in Viva Antigua
I hope you’ve enjoyed this review, and if I’ve convinced you to try it out, you get can the Luna Mini 2 here
and choose the color that’s right for you. If you purchase the Save The Sea edition
, remember all proceeds go to a good cause, so we can keep enjoying those long summer days at the beach!
