French Riviera Vacation Part 2: Desserts & Beaches

I’m finally getting around to posting the rest of my French Riviera vacation photos. Part 2 is all about desserts and beaches, two things the French Riviera is known for. One of my favorite places in Nice is the chocolate and bakery shop Auer. It’s definitely the prettiest and fanciest chocolate shop I’ve been to. If you’re ever in Nice, Auer is a must visit in my book. Of course I walked away with a few boxes of chocolates and macarons.

How gorgeous is this chandelier in the middle of the shop? The whole place felt like straight out of the Marie Antoinette movie. I’m also completely obsessed with the packaging of all the chocolates and pastries. Only the French can make desserts look so refined.french riviera vacation auer chocolates french riviera vacation Bauer fancy chocolate shopfrench riviera vacation fancy chocolate auerfrench riviera vacation rose flavor syrup auerfrench riviera vacation beautiful chocolate auerfrench riviera vacation

Of course the other thing the French Riviera is known for is beaches. I snapped these photos in Nice at Miami beach featuring this high-waisted J.Crew bikini that I bought just for this trip. I was a bit hesitant at first about this bikini as the fuller coverage can make it look like lingerie, but the more I wore this piece the more I loved it. I really like the scalloped detail and retro vibe. I paired it with a floppy navy hat to complete the look.

Lac is another well-regarded chocolatier in Nice. We didn’t spend much time in here as we were told to wait for Auer, but the macarons below definitely looked pretty good. Nice also has so many street markets selling all kinds of flavored herbs, salts, and other foodie things. I of course focused on the desserts since that’s my one true love.french riviera vacation macarons lac chocolatesfrench riviera vacation baguettesfrench riviera vacation rose herbs french riviera vacation nice beachfrench riviera vacation jcrew scalloped bikinifrench riviera vacation lace-up sandalsfrench riviera vacation nice beachside view french riviera vacation nice clock tower

That wraps up my French Rivera vacation travel diary! I’ll end the post with this gorgeous shot of a pink clock tower in Nice, could it get any prettier? Hope everyone is having a good week so far, I’m in between shows and events for NYFW, so you can follow me on Instagram for live updates!

Thanks for reading,
Mary
