Fall is one my favorite times of the year to embrace nature and take long strolls through pretty parks and gardens. I stumbled across the Elizabeth Street Garden a few weekends ago and couldn’t help but take photos as the outfit I was wearing fit in so perfectly with the setting. This is a look that would work so well for a garden party, whether in the Fall or Spring. As it’s been unseasonably warm for November, take advantage of the warm weather and have a garden party! It would be so unexpected and refreshing for the Fall season, plus it’s a chance to wear a cute outfit.
When it comes to dressing for a garden party, there are a few key elements to incorporate:
For my garden party outfit, I started with a pleated floral skirt as the base of the look. I paired the skirt with a white blouse with an embellished collar and a vintage suede jacket to stay warm and add a sophisticated vibe. I chose my new burgundy Hush Puppies boots to add a warm rich color, and finished the look with a vintage bag and vintage earrings for a feminine touch. I also wore small delicate rings in silver and gold to match the gold buttons of the jacket. I really love the colors in this look and the overall effect. A trick I always use is to pair a white blouse with something floral – the blouse balances out the colors in the outfit.
Who else is surprised that these boots are from Hush Puppies?! I’ve traditionally associated them with more comfort-based, casual shoes that aren’t the most fashion forward, but they’ve really stepped up their game this season! These booties are so cute and I love the color, not to mention they are super light and comfortable. They also come in Navy and Taupe if you’re looking for a more neutral tone.
So next time you have a garden party or outdoor event and don’t know how to dress, consider the tips above and you’ll be the chicest person at the party!
