Happy Friday loves! Last week I spent a day in downtown NYC with Lourdes from Please, Do Tell taking photos in all the hot Instagram spots. I finally got a chance to hit up the NoMo SoHo hotel and check out the lovely entrance and garden area. It’s seriously such a pretty place and my outfit just happened to match the greenery theme. We went on a weekday, which was perfect as the place was relatively quiet, allowing for ample opportunity to take photos. There are tons of different Instagrammable spots in the outside hotel area, including the entrance, garden, and brick wall. If I looked at these photos separately, I would think they were all taken at different places! This is a great for a shoot if you’re looking to do multiple outfits in one day, and you can even conveniently change inside the hotel 🙂
For my outfit, I’m wearing the cutest green sweater from Zaful. The sleeves make this sweater so unique – I’m obsessed with the bowties and the bell sleeve style. I was happy to add something not pink, pastel, or burgundy to my winter wardrobe, as you know I have a tendency to lean towards those colors. The green definitely gives the sweater a more Fall/Winter vibe, and balances out the cuteness of the bowties. I was worried about the piece being scratchy based on the price ($27.99), but it actually turned out to be really soft. I also like the black and white lining detail, it’s a nice touch and makes the piece look more expensive. The sweater also comes in white with black lining for a more feminine, wintery-fresh look.
I paired the sweater with one of my favorite color combinations, green and white. I chose a white skirt with black lining to match the black lining in the sweater, and black ankle boots for a sophisticated look. Since the skirt is a fit and flare style, I belted the sweater to add definition to the waist. I also added a pop of color with a thrifted red bag, and finished the look with a vintage silver collar and gold rings for an eclectically feminine touch.
I also chose my pink coat with bows as my outerwear for the day – I really think the coat and sweater are made for each other. The sweater has long and wide sleeves that make it hard to wear under normal coats without the sleeves bunching up, but this pink coat just happens to have shorter sleeves. Not to mention both sleeves have bows, so it’s basically a match made in heaven. Style tip: Pair a bell sleeve sweater with a 3/4 sleeve jacket or coat for the coolest layering effect!
The second Instagram spot is Pietro Nolita, a coffee shop and restaurant also located in downtown NYC. This place is a pink lover’s dream come true! Not only is the outside of the cafe pink, the inside is also ALL PINK. For outfit photos, I recommend shooting outside as the lighting inside can be a bit difficult, unless you have a super professional cameria/lense. But it’s definitely worth a visit to check out the inside and have a cup of coffee or breakfast.
Since this is a post about Instagram spots, here are both NoMo Soho‘s and Pietro Nolita‘s Instagram accounts for some more inspiration. You can get the Zaful sweater here, and shop the rest of the look below!
