Eclectically feminine style by Mary Gui

Eclectic Style: Embroidered Jeans with Dresslily

I’ve always described my style as “eclectically feminine,” and I think this outfit really speaks to those two words. To me, eclectic style means having fun with fashion, experimenting with different patterns, shapes, and textures, and dressing a little bit outside the lines. These floral embroidered jeans from Dresslily immediately caught my attention. I’ve been wanting a pair of embroidered jeans forever, and I was drawn to the floral pattern and slit design. Dresslily is an online fast fashion retailer similar to Zaful, which I’ve featured in posts here & here. Dresslily offers affordable and trendy clothes, but a warning that the quality and fit can be a hit or miss based on my experience. While these jeans might look great on me, when I received them the hole for the button was actually closed, so I had to cut them open with scissors! The fit is also a bit tight – I ordered a size S based on the sizing chart, but could definitely have gone with a medium.

This winged sweatshirt is also from Dresslily, and I have to say I was disappointed. I thought the material would be cotton but it turned out to be polyester, making it feel cheap. The feather design is also not printed on the shirt, but rather attached as a separate piece, and you can see that part of the feather design actually flies up when I move. All in all, it’s just not what I was expecting, but it does add the right amount of edge to the embroidered jeans and gives the whole look a cool vibe. So don’t expect high quality from Dresslily, but if you need a one-time piece to complete a specific look, Dresslily could be an option. They are also currently having a big Christmas Promotion so you’ll get some pretty good deals.

Since the whole look already has a lot going on, I went with a more minimalist leather white bucket bag to add polish to the outfit. I completed the look with vintage white earrings set in a similar shape to the winged pattern and delicate rings.
