A new year calls for a new and improved skin care routine! During the Winter months my skin struggles with dryness, tiredness, and generally lacks the natural glow that comes from sunny days. The dreariness of New York winters really takes a toll on my skin, so I’ve been trying out a few new products to start off this year on the right foot. Some of these products are based in the UK and New Zealand, so I thought it would fun to share with you guys in case you’re not familiar with them.
Nip + Fab is a skin care line based in the UK offering products targeted for not-so-common areas and with interesting ingredients such as Viper Venom. So I was immediately intrigued by their product offerings, and have been using their Bust Fix and their Viper Venom Micro Blur Fix. Don’t the names just sound so interesting already?! The Bust Fix is (in layman’s terms) for your boob and neckline area. It is a light serum that visibly plumps and improves the appearance of skin around the “bust + décolleté” (in fancy British terms on the product instructions). Essentially it makes your boobs look more perky and firms up the skin around that area. Kind of a perfect product as Valentine’s day approaches 😉
The Nip + Fab Viper Venom Micro Blur Fix works like a foundation primer for your face. It makes your skin look smoother and the blemishes less visible, and after using this a few times I can say that it really does give my skin an airbrushed look. It has a clear texture and very light consistency, making it perfect for pre-makeup application. Kylie Jenner is reportedly also a fan and says its a must-have for flawless selfies.
The next set of products I’ve been using religiously is from one of my favorite brands, Trilogy. If they sound familiar, that’s because I’ve written about before in my Fall Skin Care Tips post. To start off the day, I like to use their Hydrating Mist Toner in the morning after showering. I spray it on my face to feel instantly refreshed – it’s super light and smells amazing, with a combination of rose, geranium, and lavender. For nighttime, I’ve been using their Rosapene Night Cream for overnight moisture. The cream contains their famous rosehip oil and is the just the right consistency, not too light but not too thick. It also has a very calming smell that is perfect for bedtime.
For daily moisture in the morning, I use the Prescriptives Comfort Cream for my face. The cream is great for sensitive skin, with a creamy texture that does not feel heavy and easily absorbs into the skin. It’s a perfect combination with the Trilogy cream for nighttime.
To sum up my skin care routine, I do the following steps:
