I’ve always been a girly girl in all aspects of my life, and I don’t think that will ever change. So I decided to embrace my girly tendencies and dress up like a doll. I firmly believe that you’re never too old to dress like a doll, and don’t let anyone tell you otherwise! This poofy skirt is one of my favorites from Asia, it has an extra layer of tulle underneath to give it the extra poofy effect. It’s also perfect for Winter since the material is a thick knit, and of course I love how colorful and fun it is. I paired it with an equally girly lilac sweater that I picked up this year from my trip to Asia. Doesn’t Asia just have the best pieces?! Everything is slight more cutesy there, which is perfect for my doll like approach to dressing.
I had to buy this sweater by 3 reasons: the lilac color, the cold shoulder cutout, and of course the bowtie detail. I have to say that the cold shoulder sweater is pretty accurate in its description, as my shoulders actually did feel cold being exposed. I really love the way this sweater is designed with the bowtie knot at the shoulders that actually allows you the adjust the tightness on the arms. For dressing like a doll, the accessories are key. Let’s take a moment to talk about this monster bangle from Kate Spade. Is this not the cutest bangle you’re ever seen? I first saw it in the store few months ago but it was a bit expensive at $148, so I patiently waited for it to go on sale. Lucky for me, it did and I jumped at the chance to buy it. So if you’re interested, it is currently on sale and still available! The bangle is actually furry, so it’s like you’re petting a monster. It’s one of those pieces that just makes me smile and embraces the fun in fashion. Kate Spade gets it right every time.
I also chose a vintage bowtie metallic collar to keep with the doll theme. For my shoes, I went with cutout Dressbarn booties, and paired it with glittery ankle socks to amp up the girly girl vibe. I completed the look with a tiny purple crossbody bag that’s literally fit for a doll. I recently got the new iPhone 7 Plus and this bag does not fit my phone, so pretty sure the size is designed for a doll.
By the way, these photos were taken at the outdoor gym terrace at the CitizenM hotel, you can check out my mini staycation there in this post. Are you a girly girl like me? Let me know in the comments below!
