I’m feeling so street style cool in this color block vest, like one of Scott Schuman’s girls. If you don’t get this reference, go brush up on your street style knowledge ASAP. This statement color block vest is from SheIn, an online fast fashion retailer based in Asia. The site has pieces similar to Zara, but at lower price points. This vest is only $26, but it looks and feels way more expensive. I was pleasantly surprised by the quality: the vest is lined on the inside and is actually warm. I’m really digging the pink and grey color blocking and the athleisure style fabric. It gives the vest a cool, effortless vibe.
I shot these photos this past weekend when it was freezing in New York, so I chose to layer up for this outfit. I layered the vest over a wool black cardigan, achieving a cool effect and staying warm in the process. To keep with the color block theme, I went with a blue and white dress underneath to contrast against the black, pink and grey. Since the vest is pretty long and a statement piece, I streamlined the look with heeled black ankle boots. Finally, like any cool street style outfit, a leather bucket bag in a minimalist color is necessary.
For my jewelry, I kept it minimal with a Cluse watch and rose gold Thomas Sabo bangle, complemented by dainty rings. On my nails I’m wearing Essie’s spring 2017 collection in the shade Excuse Me Sur, which matches nicely with the pink and grey colors of the vest. I have to tell you guys that these photos were quite the struggle. It was so windy and cold that I had to take breaks in between the shoot and step inside a store to warm up. I am seriously so over the New York cold.
