This is the year of blog series content, and today I’m starting a new series of vintage through the decades, where I recreate vintage style outfits for the modern day. The original plan was to do this series in sequence starting from the 1920’s, but it proved to be harder than I thought to source items in sequence. So this first post is inspired by the 1960’s, specifically the mod dresses that are one of my favorites from the decade. There is something so chic about going mod, from the shift style dresses to the socks and sunglasses. See below for some of my inspiration in creating my 1960’s outfit.
For the rest of my outfit, I went full vintage with a vintage clutch and vintage flats. Note that both pieces complement the yellow and green colors in my dress. I really like the overall effect of this look. While it is vintage-inspired, it still works for the modern day with the cool sunglasses and complementary colors. Bonus points is that this dress can be styled in so many different ways to take it out of the vintage territory completely. Paired with just pumps and a fur clutch, it becomes a chic look for a cocktail party.
