I’m so excited to be sharing the first home decor post today of my new apartment! I’ve been planning this content series ever since I closed on my apartment back in April, and it has taken months of furniture shopping, home decor research, and finally moving in last Tuesday to get everything together. I am absolutely in love with my home and finally have the opportunity to design it exactly the way I want it. There is no doubt that a girl lives in the apartment, and that is totally the vibe I want from it. For the first time in my life, I have a space that is completely my own and which 100% reflects who I am. Read on to see how I decorated my bedroom to be ultra feminine and dreamy. I am by no means a home decor expert (in fact I’m pretty much a newbie), so bear with me as I still have a long way to go!
5 Must Haves for an Ultra Feminine Bedroom
A Pink Bed: I’ve always considered the bed to be the center of the bedroom, so this is the piece that I started with when picturing my dream bedroom. I have always wanted a pink tufted bed, and initially I had imagined a blush pink bed. However, I couldn’t help myself when I saw this deep rose velvet bed from Lulu & Georgia. It spoke to me profusely and there was no going back once I saw it. I was concerned about the bold pop of color, so I made sure that the rest of the room was light and airy to contrast against the deep rose.
Pastel Duvet Cover & Matching Pillows: It doesn’t get any more feminine than pastel colors, so I chose a beautiful rose quartz duvet cover from CStudio Home. I love that the color is light enough to go with the bed, but still exudes femininity. I didn’t want to go with white as I thought that would look too stark, so I was so happy to find this lilac color instead. The duvet cover comes with matching pillow covers and sheets, but for more variety I also added on two white pillows with a subtle watercolor design, as well as two Parisian inspired cream pillows.
Fluffy White Rug: A good rug can make such a big difference in a room. When I put this white rug from West Elm under my bed, it instantly transformed the room and made it feel so much more cozy and dreamy. This is seriously the softest rug ever, it is super fluffy and I love the tassel details on the edge. I chose white as it goes well with the pink bed frame, and adds to the effect of lightness in the overall room.
Pink Fur Throw: Since my duvet cover is a light solid color, I wanted to add some texture to the bed. I chose a pink fur throw because it’s so cozy and I am obsessed with the color (which I’m sure you can tell by now!). It adds that extra touch of femininity that ties the whole theme together.
Chic Clothing Stand: Finally, no ultra feminine bedroom is complete with something clothing on display! Even though I have a walk-in closet (stay tuned for another post on that), I love having a pretty clothing stand to showcase my favorite pieces and things I need to shoot. So the stand is both decorative and functional, and gives the bedroom a lived-in feel.
Another essential piece for any bedroom is obviously a nightstand. I’ve never been one to splurge on a nice one, but since my bed is so nice, I decided that I had to get a decent nightstand to go with it. I chose a white wood tiled one from West Elm that adds a sophisticated touch to the room, and I accessorized it with pretty heels and a cute ring holder for a feminine vibe. I truly love how my bedroom came together, and I feel so at peace when I’m in it. I hope you’ve enjoyed this peek into my new apartment, as there is much more to come!
