You all know I’m a huge fan of nail polish and jewelry, so when I got all the new colors from heroine.nyc, I thought it was the perfect opportunity to do a post on how to match your nail polish colors to your jewelry. You might remember heroine.nyc from my post last year: they are a cruelty free and vegan nail polish brand that names all their shades based on consumer feedback on Instagram, and gives back with every purchase made. Their new colors consist of a pastel collection and a sparkly collection, hence I decided to do a daytime hand and a nighttime hand. The first color from the daytime hand is this pretty “Lilac It” shade. I paired it with a floral watch that also had purple tones on the band, as well as a rose gold bangle and rose rings for a feminine vibe.
This second shade “Empower-Mint” is a pretty mix between blue and green, so I paired it with an aqua colored ring and a blue vintage floral bangle. When in doubt, go with matchy-matchy.
The third shade is a lovely “Sugar Spun” pink, and instead of matching my jewelry with the pink, I went with contrasting jewelry instead. I chose a delicate gold watch and silver and pearl rings for a sophisticated vibe.
The fourth shade in the pastel collection is “Peek-A-Blue” (how clever are these names right?!), a cool shade of baby blue. For this one there was really no rhyme or reason to the jewelry I picked, I just had fun with it and went with gold pieces accented by a huge red ring.
The last shade in the collection is named after my favorite fruit. For this “Peach Please” color, I went over the top and paired it with my fuzzy monster bracelet and eclectic rings. Overall, I’m really loving the way these colors come together, and even if it wasn’t for the shoot, I would totally wear my nails in each of the 5 shades at the same time. It creates a pretty pastel effect that is super feminine and perfect for Summer (or the Easter holidays!).
Now moving onto the nighttime shades, I mixed up the gold, silver, and red to create a totally party effect. Playing off of the “Gold Digger” shade, I chose a gold bracelet and a black and gold evil eye ring. If you want to be super extra, you can add on even more jewelry, for example another eye ring and an additional bangle. Gold, silver, and red are all complimentary colors, so any jewelry you choose should go with all three shades.
All the shades from heroine.nyc go on super smooth with no streakiness, which is so important when it comes to doing your own nails. As mentioned, the brand also gives back with every purchase, and currently they are supporting the Beagle Freedom Project, which is an organization dedicated to finding homes for lab animals after they are released. So the nail polishes are not only chic, but they also support a good cause!
You can shop all the shades in this post on the heroine.nyc website, and you can get 20% off your entire purchase with code LAYERSOFCHIC. But hurry, because the code expires 9/16!
