It’s official Fall! Even though this past weekend in NYC was freaking warm, I’m so excited for Fall to finally arrive and transition into cozy sweaters and layered outfits. For the beginning of Fall, one of my essential pieces is a boyfriend blazer that pulls together any look and doubles as a light jacket. This leopard print blazer from Banana Republic is the perfect piece to transition from work to play. I love the sleek navy color and boyfriend fit, and the print makes it super stylish and on trend. I decided to style it for a casual weekend look in the park, and paired it with my new Articles of Society stepped hem jeans. I’m seriously obsessed with these jeans, they fit like a glove, are not too long on my petite frame, and are under $70! I would recommend sizing down as the jeans have a significant amount of stretch.
Another Fall staple is a good pair of velvet loafers, especially when they come with cute tassel details like the pair I’m wearing from Banana Republic. These loafers are great as they have a slight block heel that makes them super comfortable and great for dressing up or dressing down. The navy color makes them super versatile, and the velvet trend is not going away anytime soon! To soften up the look, I paired the boyfriend blazer with a more feminine lilac crochet top. I like playing with textures and contrasts, which you can also in the handbag I chose for this look. Perhaps an unconventional choice, I went with a bright coral straw basket for a pop of color and reminder of Summer. I think the bag works well with the outfit and the location of the shoot. This outfit would actually be perfect for a Fall picnic in the park, complete with the straw bag.
For my accessories, I kept them minimal with just feather leaf earrings and gold rings. I also added a red belt to my jeans to match the straw bag. This outfit is definitely more on the casual side for me and you guys know I don’t wear jeans often, so it was important for me to still sprinkle in pops of color and femininity to make this look my own.
