Why I Invest in Daily Contact Lenses for My Blogging

I’ve had to wear glasses and/or contacts since I was 8 years old. One of my greatest wishes in life is to get LASIK and have perfect vision, but as a risk-averse person that will likely never happen. So since I can’t have perfect vision, I invest in my contact lenses to get as close to perfect as possible. I wear glasses occasionally but they often get in the way of my day to day activities. I’m on my feet a lot and I don’t want to have to worry about forgetting my glasses or having a protective place to store them. Contact lenses give me so much more freedom. As a busy blogger balancing a part-time job and somewhat of a social life, there are days when I’m in my contacts for more than 12 hours at a time. I’m on the computer a lot for my part-time job, and when I get home I go straight to my computer to do blog work, or I have blogger events to attend. That doesn’t give my eyes a ton of time to rest, so it is very important for me to have good daily contact lenses, and I have been using 1-DAY ACUVUE® Brand Contact Lenses for a while now and it has really made a difference on the comfort and productivity of my life.Layersofchic Daily Contact Lenses optometrist officelayersofchic-daily-contact-lenses-acuvue

I recently went to get my eyes checked up at the optometrist office to make sure my prescription was still the right one for me. I’ve been using  1-DAY ACUVUE® TruEye® for a while now and have been very pleased with the results. At my eye appointment, the optometrist confirmed that the 1-DAY ACUVUE® TruEye® continues to be the best lenses for my eyes. Even though I’ve been using them for a while now, I actually didn’t know about all the benefits until the doctor told me! For starters, the lenses come with UV protection* to help protect my eyes against the sun. In fact, ACUVUE® is the only brand that has UV protection across all of its products. The 1-DAY ACUVUE® TruEye® lenses have an infinity edge design that makes them feel like I’m wearing nothing at all, and they are designed for easy insertion and removal. I have dry eyes, so an added benefit is that the contact lenses come with the HYDRACLEAR® 1 Technology, which helps keep the lenses feeling moist and comfortable.

As a fashion and beauty blogger, the biggest benefit in terms of having daily contact lenses is that I don’t have to worry about make-up getting on my lenses and then having to wear them again the next day. I wear a good amount of eye make-up, and daily contact lenses are ideal as they allow me to start with a fresh pair every day so that I can see clearly and live my life to the fullest. I also have really sensitive eyes that are prone to itching and dryness, so daily contacts are the best in terms of feeling like I’m not wearing any contacts at all. Since I started wearing 1-DAY ACUVUE® TruEye®, I’ve had a much easier time with long sessions on the computer and long days in general. It’s one less thing for me to worry about, especially when my job requires me to look and feel my best.

For important safety info:
*Helps protect against transmission of harmful UV radiation to the cornea & into the eye.
WARNING: UV-absorbing contact lenses are NOT substitutes for protective UV- absorbing eyewear such as UV-absorbing goggles or sunglasses because they do not completely cover the eye and surrounding area. You should continue to use UV-absorbing eyewear as directed.
NOTE: Long-term exposure to UV radiation is one of the risk factors associated with cataracts. Exposure is based on a number of factors such as environmental conditions (altitude, geography, cloud cover) and personal factors (extent and nature of outdoor activities). UV-blocking contact lenses help provide protection against harmful UV radiation. However, clinical studies have not been done to demonstrate that wearing UV-blocking contact lenses reduces the risk of developing cataracts or other eye disorders. Consult your eye care practitioner for more information.

Love that you’ve addressed this. I’ve been in glasses since I was 8 too (twins!) and it’s so hard to find something that doesn’t dry my eyes out if I’m on my computer all day! Thank you for the suggestion!!

  7. I have worn contacts since I was 12 years old, but I’ve never tried daily lenses! I’ve never really thought about it, either… until now. I love the idea of tossing them and starting fresh the next day!
