Fall in Central Park is one of my favorite times of the year. The fall foliage in the park is unparalleled and always takes my breathe away. For a casual and trendy fall outfit that’s perfect for a long stroll in the park, I chose an unexpected piece. Rather than going with jeans, I went with leather shorts that would allow movement without sacrificing style. You might think that shorts are only reserved for Summer, but there is totally a way to style shorts for the Fall and Winter. Wearing shorts with tights for cooler weather always draws people’s attention and is a great conversation starter.
The leather shorts were the perfect choice to go with this chunky sweater. Since the sweater has more volume, shorts are a great option for tucking in the sweater to achieve an effortless chic look. I also like that the leather gives the outfit some edge. This Romeo & Juliet Couture sweater is from Luxe Catch, which is a $50 monthly subscription box filled with designer goodies worth up to $350! In addition to this sweater, I also received a gold leather jacket that you will see in an upcoming post. To keep the outfit casual for a stroll through the park, I chose velvet flats from Old Navy that are only $23 and look way more expensive than they cost. Notice that the black tights help the double straps on the flats stand out.
For my accessories, I chose statement feather earrings from Nocturne Studio to dress up the sweater. I’ve previously featured Nocturne in these posts (here & here), I am obsessed with their feather jewelry and exquisite attention to detail. To further elevate the look, I chose my Chloe drew bag and a sophisticated blue watch from Klasse14. Finally, for an extra trendy touch, I attached a big pom pom to my bag.
