If you’re tired of the traditional Valentine’s Day outfit of pink and red, consider a romantic black midi dress instead. I loved this shoot and kind of felt like a black widow in this dress, and there were so many good pictures it was hard to choose (hence the more photos than usual in this post). I definitely had a vision to shoot this sheer dress by the rocks on the water, and I’m so happy that it came out just the way I wanted. This black dress is from the Who What Wear x Target collection and is only $36.99 Yup, it’s hard to believe isn’t it?! All the details make this dress so special, from the sheer polka dot print to the ruffle sleeve detail. It’s just the right mix of romantic and classic, and is perfect for the girl who wants to stand out on Valentine’s Day.
Like the dress, I chose super affordable, yet unconventional Valentine’s Day accessories to complete the look. This outfit is actually really all about the accessories in terms of everything coming together as a “look.” I chose a quaint novelty handbag from Shop LC that has a bohemian vibe to it, and the best part is the bag is only $9.99. No joke you guys, this unique handbag is the price of a sandwich in NY! I love how small the bag is, giving any outfit a dainty and ladylike feel. For a touch of sparkle, I also went with rose gold earrings, which are $19.99 from Shop LC. If you’re wondering what this Shop LC site is, it is essentially a home shopping site like HSN, but with way more affordable pieces. I was pleasantly surprised by the quality of the pieces, as well as the unique designs. Lucky for you, you can use the coupon code “layersofchic30” to get 30% off your entire purchase until 2/28.
To add an additional boho chic vibe, I layered two necklaces, one with celestial charms, and the other a rose gold initial necklace. I added my evil eye ring in black that just goes so perfectly with the dress, as well as a white marble bracelet from Gamarrow. I completed the outfit with vintage-inspired oxfords to keep with the delicate, feminine vibe.
