Last weekend, I was fortunate enough to be invited to a short but amazing North Carolina getaway with Farfetch and Capitol Charlotte. I’ve been working with Farfetch for more than a year now, so it was really nice to finally meet the team in person and get to know everyone. The weekend was hosted in conjunction with luxury boutique Capitol Charlotte, one of Farfetch’s long-standing partners, to celebrate Capitol’s 20th Anniversary. I had no idea what to expect, and boy were my expectations exceeded! From a visit to the gorgeous Capitol boutique to the most picturesque farm party, it was definitely a weekend to remember.
We kicked off the weekend on Friday with a visit to the Capitol boutique, the Barney’s of Charlotte. But actually, it’s even better than Barney’s! The store has an airiness to it that makes the entire space feel so open and bright. The store design is just heaven, and there is even an outdoor garden area with a greenery wall that spans the entire height of the store. If I had an unlimited amount of money, I would totally buy everything at Capitol. I was lucky enough to be gifted two pieces that I’m wearing in these photos: a Vivetta striped shirt dress and Sophia Webster velvet heels.
I was instantly drawn to the fun collar design on this Vivetta dress. How cute are the lipstick and cat illustrations?! I paired the dress with my new Sophia Webster sandals which I’m obsessed with. The pink velvet and glittery heel basically make them the shoe of my dreams. They are the perfect special occasion heel for all the weddings I have coming up this year! I completed the outfit with my bow clutch that I also got on Farfetch a while back, and my sparkly hoop earrings from Sequin Jewelry.
My favorite part of this trip was the epic farm party at North Corner Haven. When I first heard farm party, I wasn’t sure what to expect as I’m not a very outdoorsy person. But this party was like nothing I’ve ever attended. Spread across over 600 acres of land, with a beautiful table setting in the center, the party could have been straight out of the pages of Vogue. I actually used to read about these types of parties in Vogue and dream of attending one. So it was surreal that I got the chance to go. From skeet shooting (I shot a rifle for the first time and hit the target) to playing with goats to a traditional barbecue dinner, everything was so dreamy and magical (and a nice change from city life)!
For my outfit, I dressed boho barn chic in a romantic whimsical dress from Chicwish. This dress is actually completely sheer, so I layered a lace bralette and tulle skirt under it. The party also had a flower crown station, which was the perfect accessory to complete my look. I tied the crown on top of my head, inspired by the Dolce & Gabbana girls.
We ended the weekend at the fabulous Mint Gala After Party. This year’s Mint Gala celebrated the opening of the Oscar De La Renta exhibit, which we had the privilege of attending on a private tour with the CEO of Oscar De La Renta himself. The entire experience was so magical and the exhibit was stunning. For the exhibit and after party, I wore my favorite black and white vintage jumpsuit. I’m so grateful to the Farfetch and Capitol team for inviting me to this North Carolina getaway, it was definitely one of the best weekends ever!
