Yellow has been one of my favorite colors for quite some time now, it is so bright and cheery, and always puts a smile on my face. I’ve previously featured a yellow dress, yellow handbag, and yellow rainboots, so it was only a matter of time before I got my hands on yellow tights as well. I am loving the color of these tights from Vienne Milano as they are a mustard yellow than bright yellow, making them more wearable and easier to pull off. Styling colored tights, especially when they are yellow, can be challenging. So my trick is to pair the tights with a singular pattern, whether that’s a dress, jumpsuit, or in this case, a two-piece set. Since the yellow tights are already a statement piece, introducing too many other colors and prints can make the outfit look messy.
Yellow tights kind of have retro feel, so I decided to style them with a vintage outfit. I chose a vintage two-piece set by Brett Adam, a talented designer based in Portland who reconstructs old vintage pieces into new styles. So this two piece set I’m wearing used to actually be a vintage dress. How cool is that?! I love how Brett uses vintage materials, but makes them into edgy modern pieces.
To keep with the vibe of this vintage outfit, I chose my 1920’s inspired silver heels from Miss Royal Vintage. These have become one of my favorite pairs of shoes, I am obsessed with the sparkly buckle and Mary Jane style, plus they are so comfy. For my accessories, I kept it classy with a vintage Chanel bag and vintage Saint Laurent bracelet, both from Designer Revival. I completed the look with rainbow teardrop earrings.
