It’s been almost a month since I got back from Provence, and I’m happy to finally be sharing outfit photos of what I wore on the trip. For my Provence style outfits, I wanted to embody the romance and beauty of the South of France. When I packed for the trip, I chose lots of summery dresses, colorful prints, and feminine silhouettes. But funnily enough, two of my favorite outfits I wore on the trip ended being pieces I bought at Topshop London. I stopped in London before Provence to visit my best friend who moved there, and of course I couldn’t resist going to the Topshop. I was so impressed by the selection and walked away with two beautiful pieces that I’m absolutely obsessed with. In case you’re curious, I’ve included a video at the end of this post of everything I bought in London.
For this first outfit, I’m wearing a Miss Patina playsuit I found at Topshop London. The great thing about the Topshop in London is that they have British brands outside of just Topshop, such as this Miss Patina brand that I pretty much fell in love with. I knew this little playsuit would fit right in for Provence, from the blue color to the pearl buttons to the whimsical print. This piece has an effortless ease to it that is just perfect for strolling along the poppy fields and quaint French towns. I paired it with my straw basket bag from Faithfull the Brand, and my new floppy hat that I picked at the London flea market. To keep with the easy breezy vibe, I chose red slides, a yellow headband, and purple tassel earrings. I love how the headband adds a country effect to this outfit, which is so quintessential Provence style.
It was a bit rainy on a few days when I was in Provence (including our shoot day), so I picked up a huge black and white umbrella from the flea market. This umbrella reminded me so much of Mary Poppins, so I couldn’t resist taking a Mary Poppins inspired shot in front of the local hotel. I like how the umbrella matches the lamp post, sometimes the unconventional accessories are the best!
For my second outfit, I chose a white shirtdress that I also bought at Topshop London, also by Miss Patina. I told you I fell head over heels with this brand! I wore this dress to my best friend’s wedding reception in Provence, which was a picnic style (you can read more about the wedding in this post). So this dress really turned out to be perfect, because it totally reminded me of a picnic dress. Blue and white are such Provence colors, and the floral eyelet design gives this piece a feminine vibe. The great thing about this dress is that it can also be worn open as a summer trench. Since it is a shirtdress style, it just has one button and a tie around the waist, so it works easily worn open as well.
I paired the dress with a floral handbag to match the floral eyelet design, lace-up floral sandals, and a pop of color with statement drop earrings. In true Provence style, I completed the outfit with my floppy straw hat.
