It’s that time of year of again: NYFW SS19 is almost upon us! In honor of this exciting and momentous occasion, I decided to rewear and shoot one of my favorite dresses that I wore last September for NYFW. When I wore this dress last year, I had no idea it would turn out to be NYFW street style gold. This colorful vintage midi dress attracted a frenzy of photographers, I still remember walking to the Tadashi Shoji show and being stopped by multiple photographers along the way, including Cosmopolitan and Man Repeller. It felt quite surreal, especially when I spotted my photo in the NYFW street style round-ups on Cosmopolitan, AOL, Man Repeller, and Getty Images.
This vintage midi dress from Wayward Collection is one of those magical pieces that immediately transport you to another place when you put it on. It is a once-in-a-lifetime find, and in a sense, I think the dress chose me. This is the precise reason why I love vintage so much – only vintage pieces have the power to invoke some a strong emotion upon discovery. The knowledge that I am perhaps the only person in the world who owns this dress is intoxicating and magical.
I kept my styling for this dress simple with grey vintage heels and my pink dupe Cult Gaia bag. For my jewelry, I went with delicate boho touches including hoop earrings from SEQUIN, a charm bracelet, and colorful rings by May Came Home. I also chose a romantic braided hairstyle, done by talented hair stylist Marianna.
