Sustainable Fashion: Handwoven Cotton Maxi Dress

I’ll be the first to admit I don’t pay much attention to whether or not the clothes I’m wearing are sustainable and eco-friendly. I tend to pay more attention to the design and price points, and to be honest have always thought sustainable fashion tends to be more expensive and less stylish. Of course I understand that sustainable clothing is more expensive due to the fabrics and materials used, but as a full-time blogger, I’m just not in the income bracket yet to be able to help save the planet through my clothing choices. So I was really surprised to discover that this cotton maxi dress from Anita Dongre Grassroots is sustainable, as it is super chic and definitely does not sacrifice design. It is on the pricier end, but I think the pricing is justified due to the elevated design, handwoven fabric, and unique print. This dress is seriously so flowy and light, I love the way the fabric moves effortlessly as I walk. 

This cotton maxi dress almost makes me sad that Summer is over. I will definitely be bringing it to Florida with me in October! Since the dress has a muted color palette, I added a bold pop of color with my green Jeff Wan bag. I love how vibrant this green is, it reminds of a fresh Spring day. The dress also has a fun orange tassel embellishment on the waist tie, so I chose orange red sandals to match. For a boho chic vibe, I went with  dangly earrings and a stack of colorful bangles.
