I had a little too much fun with this shoot, as evident from the more-than-usual amount of photos you are about to see in this post. I’ve been wanting to shoot at Stuyvesant Street in the East Village ever since I saw it on @margoandme’s feed, and this printed kimono jumpsuit proved to be the perfect outfit for this spot. I like that the print on the jumpsuit really pops against the background, and simultaneously matches the rustic Winter vibe of the old building. A kimono jumpsuit has been on my list for a while now, and I was drawn to the PJ vibe and contrast piping of this one from Adelyn Rae. I dressed it up with red sock booties from Missguided, another piece that has been on my must-have list. You all know I love color, so naturally I added a pop of red to this look.
For my accessories, I chose elevated pieces that would dress up this more relaxed jumpsuit. Since the jumpsuit has a V-neck cut, it was the perfect opportunity to wear my long dreamcatcher necklace from Sequin Jewelry. I also went with various rings in rose gold and silver. I completed the outfit with my white Furla bag that I’ve been obsessed with lately. It goes with everything and instantly elevates any outfit.
I was inspired to get creative with this location since Stuyvesant Street is such a popular spot for shoots, so I wanted to capture something different. I knew I wanted to do something with the pole, but didn’t want to just do the typical lean against the pole shot. So I decided to do more of a swing from the pole shot and channeled my inner ballerina. I love the way this photo turned out, it’s so much fun and the red boots really stand out. I also experimented with some sitting shots for a more editorial style vibe. Let me know what you guys think!
