If you guys have been following me for a while, you know that I’m a huge fan of jewelry and love to play with different pieces and styles. Jewelry can make such a big difference in an outfit and add so much impact to simpler looks. So today I’m sharing some of my favorite jewelry pieces and trends!
Rocksbox is a premium jewelry subscription service, kind of like Birchbox but for jewelry only. The difference with Rocksbox is that it’s a loan service where for each set you get 3 three pieces of jewelry on loan, and you can wear them as long as you want before sending them back for the next set. The cool thing about Rocksbox is that the jewelry pieces in each set are handpicked for you based on your jewelry and style preferences, and there is also an option to buy the pieces at a discounted rate plus a $10 credit each month. I love Rocksbox because it’s a great way to try different jewelry styles and pieces without committing to purchase, and it’s awesome that you can keep the pieces for as long as you choose.
For my first set, I specifically requested dainty necklaces that can be used for layering, and I have to say my stylist really hit the mark. The two necklaces she picked for me are a long Gorjana necklace with delicate stones, and a shorter Sophie Harper curve bar necklace. The two pieces go perfectly together when layered, which is exactly what I was looking for. I actually ended up purchasing both pieces as I found myself wearing them repeatedly with different outfits. In my first set was also a pair of hoop earrings from House of Harlow to pair with both necklaces. I love the earrings as they give a subtle sparkle and have a boho chic vibe. I chose to pass on purchasing the earrings because I don’t wear earrings as much generally.
For my first set, it was definitely a success. I’m excited to try out my next set and will keep you guys posted on what I receive. I’m thinking I want some rings and bangles this time. Did I mention that you can create a wish list on Rocksbox of items you want to receive? It’s kind of genius. So I am pretty much obsessed with rose gold jewelry, as you can probably tell from these photos. I feel like rose gold was made for my style as it’s super feminine and romantic. I think it’s so pretty, and I haven’t seen a piece of rose gold jewelry I don’t like. One of my favorite pieces is this Cynthia Rybakoff rose gold necklace that I received as a birthday gift from my boyfriend (he knows me so well!). The pendant is coated with rose gold titanium and has an amazing sparkle. I love wearing the piece with t-shirts as a way to dress up my look and add some shine.
I also really like rose gold bracelets, and the more the better! I like to wear the bracelets stacked, which you can see in this post. The key to stacking these bracelets is to choose pieces that have different thickness, but similar shapes. I typically start with the Kate Spade sailor knot bangle as the thickest bangle. I then add on the medium thickness bangle with the bowtie knot, and 1-2 of the thinner bangles pictured here. All the thinner bangles are from a new jewelry site Audaviv, and you can get 10% off your entire purchase with code LAYERSOFCHICBLOG.
The last piece of rose gold jewelry is a delicate choker necklace. This necklace combines two of my favorite trends at the moment: rose gold and chokers. I love wearing the necklace with low-cut tops for a chic and sophisticated look.
Statement boho necklaces are one of my go-to jewelry styles. As I love mixing different patterns and pieces together, boho necklaces are the perfect accessory for me to experiment with different looks. One of my favorite pieces is this aztec style necklace from Roadkill Ranch, a boutique specializing in vintage and bohemian pieces. I love this piece because it’s so unique and not like anything I’ve seen before, and it’s also one-of-a-kind. I envision this necklace with a flowy maxi dress during the summer and a turtleneck during the winter.
The other piece I’ve been wearing on repeat is this pink tassel necklace from H&M. You can see how I styled it here by dressing up a button-up blouse. This necklace adds an element of fun and eccentricity to any outfit, and is a true statement piece. I also love this gold screw bangle that is actually from a men’s shop called Curated Basics. This is the only men’s piece I own, and it goes great with more feminine outfits or just a t-shirt and jeans.
