Hello lovelies! I went through ALL my NYFW photos this morning and am finally getting this part 2 recap up! This is a continuation of Part 1, which you can check out if you haven’t yet and would like to read in sequence. My favorite part of NYFW is definitely going to the runway shows and experiencing the clothes up close and personal. So for the latter half of the week, I lined up as many shows as I could. Thanks to Shopping Links and the Riviere Agency, I was able to experience so many shows from the front row. I may have gone a little too camera happy, but I seriously loved so many of the looks and am so excited to share them with you guys!
Day 4 started off with a 10AM presentation at Dan Liu. The collection is inspired by the designer’s Asian roots and has an oriental vibe. I wanted every single one of the fun and flirty dresses that walked down the runway. I loved his use of print while keeping the silhouettes more classic. I also really liked the hair and makeup and thought the sleek ponytails were a nice contrast with the feminine dresses.
This finale dress managed to be understated yet breathtaking at the same time. The model’s coy expression also goes perfectly with this look.
As I had a day full of blogger events after the show, I chose a comfortable yet trendy outfit with a sporty dress and block heels that I can actually walk in. And in true blogger fashion, I draped a floral bomber jacket over my shoulders. I have to admit I had a few moments throughout the day when the damn jacket just would not stay on my shoulders!
Day 5 was thankfully more chill with just one show at Vivienne Hu. I thought everything in the collection was super wearable and I could totally see myself in so many of the pieces. The collection was vibrant and colorful, but done very tastefully. I also loved the styling – all the girls had short bobs with pink highlights, and the more fancy tuxedo inspired looks were paired with black gladiator sandals for a cool girl effect. Unfortunately I wasn’t able to get as many good photos from the second row.
I couldn’t resist taking a photo of these eccentrically dressed people at the show. This girl’s Star Trek inspired top is so fabulous.
Day 6 was perhaps my favorite day in terms of runway shows. I saw two beautiful shows both overflowing with drama, romance, and femininity.
To be honest, I had never heard of Irina Vitjaz before attending the show, so I didn’t know what to expect. The moment the first look came out, I knew that I was in heaven. As someone who loves vintage and anything Victorian-inspired, this show was jaw-droppingly gorgeous. Every gown that came out exceeded my imagination and it just kept getting better and better.
I was slightly obsessed with the hair-dos and headpieces. I also loved the dramatic bell sleeves and almost costume-y effect of some of the looks.
This was definitely my favorite look. I mean, does it get any better than floral, pink, and a high-neck all combined into one?!
I was most looking forward to the Leanne Marshall show. She is one of the winners from Project Runway, which I watch religiously and is one of my all-time favorite shows. Leanne is known for her ethereal dresses and flawless draping, and the show definitely did not dissappoint. The icing on the cake was that I got to attend the show with my blogger friend Lourdes from Please, Do Tell, and everything is always better when you have a friend with you to freak out over the looks.
This all-white look is just sick. I’m really digging the texture on the top and the mesh detail.
I loved this unexpected pairing of a leather jacket with a soft gown. The perfect combination of “hard and soft”, as Nina Garica on Project Runway would say.
The finale dress at Leanne Marshall. I don’t really think words can even do this dress justice.
I was lucky enough to get a last-minute ticket to the Georgine show, and boy am I glad I went. After seeing so many shows with gowns and dresses, Georgine was a nice change with its edgy separates and total French girl vibe.
I really enjoyed the hair and makeup here. So effortlessly chic with a textured bob and red lips.
I need both of these outfits in my close ASAP. Zara trip anyone? So much inspiration and how cute is the heart clutch in the below look?!
For the last day, I figured I would go out with a bang and chose a bold pink skirt. I’ll be doing a full NYFW outfits post next week, so you’ll get to see more photos of my outfits and the usual detail shots. In the meantime, if you’re interested in what I did with my hair and makeup for NYFW, you can check out this post.
I hope you’ve enjoyed this recap, and if you’ve made it to the very end you deserve a gold star because I know that was a very long post 🙂
