Happy Friday loves! Today’s post is very special because it’s the start of an exciting new series on the blog: The Carrie Bradshaw Style Series! I often describe my style as a modern day Carrie Bradshaw. I actually started using this phrase when more than one friend told me that my style reminded them of Carrie Bradshaw. Of course I was super flattered, and when I researched her outfits I realized that we do have similar style sensibilities. We both like mixing prints and silhouettes, and our outfits all have a sense of whimsy, femininity, and eclecticism. So I thought it would be fun to do a series of posts inspired by Carrie Bradshaw’s famous outfits, but reinterpreted for the modern day. Believe it or not, I had all these pieces already in my closet, so our styles really are quite similar.
I really love how elegant yet colorful this whole look is, and I was definitely inspired by how Carrie mixed a classic black peacoat with a more playful polka dot skirt. I totally felt like I was having a modern Carrie moment while shooting these photos in Dumbo with the Brooklyn Bridge in the background and twirling around in my skirt. I could see the Carrie Bradshaw today living somewhere like Dumbo, or maybe that’s just because I am dying to live in Dumbo!
I would love to hear your thoughts on this series, and whether you would like to see more! I am planning on doing a few more looks inspired by Carrie, but am definitely curious to hear feedback, so let me know in the comments below!
