How to Pull Off Ruffle Hem Pants on a Petite Frame

Statement ruffles are here to stay, and the latest and greatest in the ruffle madness are pants with ruffles on them. This is a trend that I’ve always wanted to try, but didn’t think I could pull off due to my petite frame. Ruffle pants are not easy to pull off to begin with, and being on the shorter side they really can overwhelm one’s frame. So I really like these ruffle hem pants from Zaful that incorporate the ruffles at the bottom and are straight fitting in the legs. These pants are a great balance between trendy and wearable, and perfect for a petite frame. I also love the glitter fabric and high-waisted fit, making these pants super fun and flattering.

I decided to go big or go home for this look. I paired the ruffle hem pants with an equally eye-catching chiffon floral blouse that also has ruffles on it. This blouse instantly caught my eye due to its tropical print and wide sleeves, and I’m loving how it looks with the pants. I admit the combination of the pants with the blouse does overwhelm my frame a bit, so I added height with blue suede mules. I also put my hair in a ponytail to achieve a leaner effect on my face and the illusion of height.

Since this blouse has a tropical vibe to it, I chose a gorgeous Shiva’s Eye ring from Inaya jewelry to complement the print. This ring is made from a shell called “Shiva’s Eye” sourced in Thailand and Indonesia, how cool is that?! I paired the ring with white leaf drop earrings from Stella & Dot to match the leaf print theme. For a touch of sophistication, I chose my Chloe Drew bag to complete the outfit.

This look is so edgy! I have such skinny lanky legs that it’s so hard to wear certain pants and not look like a giraffe.
