Who would expect a pink poncho and mesh skirt to go so well together?! I did! I definitely had a vision for this outfit, I’m all about contrasts and putting together unexpected and fashion forward combinations. This Sonia Rykiel pink poncho spoke to me the moment I saw it at Designer Revival, a luxury consignment store on the Upper East Side. They have the most curated selection of designer pieces, from rare Chanel bags to gorgeous designer jackets and shoes. I could seriously spend hours in the store, everything is in great condition and laid out in the prettiest setting possible. Now back to this sweater, I’ve always wanted to own a Sonia Rykiel piece but unfortunately cannot afford full price. So when I saw this sweater, I knew that I had to have it. It is so luxuriously soft that I just want to live in it all Winter long, and the pink color is of course the icing on the cake.
I decided to pair it with a mesh skirt to give the look a modern edge, as even I’ll admit that a poncho is not the most fashion forward piece these days. But with the addition of the skirt, the outfit now has a high fashion editorial vibe and plays with proportions and textures. To add even more sophistication to this look, I chose a gorgeous dusty blue bag from Radley London. I am really loving this color for Fall, it is a great alternative to neutrals and still goes with everything, plus this bag is the perfect size for every day, and can transition easily from work to cocktails. Not only does it have a roomy interior, it also have 2 side slip pockets, as well as a back slip pocket for easy access to your metro card or anything else you need to have on hand. And the little dog charm gives it just the right touch of whimsy!
To add a pop of print to this outfit, I went with leopard print booties. For my jewelry, I kept it minimalist with a silver bracelet from Links of London, as well as a customized rose gold “LayersofChic” necklace from Capsul Jewelry. I essentially take any chance I get to put my blog name on things, and the cool part with this necklace is that it’s actually personalized with my own handwriting!
